This year, winters in Mumbai set new records for being the coldest the city had ever witnessed, or say, for past 40 to 50 years. It just took one year,
in fact only some months, for global warming to give an evidence of what it is capable of. The recent flooding in Mumbai, in which about 400 lives were lost, and the Boxing Day tsunami that hit the eastern coast of India is a grim reminder of its destructive nature. It is said that the Arabian Sea facing Mumbai is steadily rising and could rise by as much as 15-38 centimeters by 2050. This means that the city would be more prone to frequent flooding caused by storms.

We need to work with organizations looking into global warming,
deforestation, preserving our wonderful flora and fauna and numerous species of animals in their natural reserves.
